Seven police officers have been suspended over the arrest and asphyxiation death of black man Daniel Prude. The 41-year-old's family released body camera footage from his March arrest in Rochester, New York, this week with the city's mayor calling it an act of racism.
The harrowing video shows a group of officers putting a hood over his head - apparently to prevent his spit from possibly transmitting the novel coronavirus - as he knelt on the ground, handcuffed and naked.
Prude's family has called for the arrest of the officers involved in his death which occurred seven days after the incident on March 23 in the upstate New York city.
