The US Coastguard has fired at an 8ft shark which was spotted swimming towards a group of servicemen and women who had jumped into the ocean on a break from work.
The 40 men and women were larking around and even had a huge inflatable unicorn when suddenly the alarm was raised. Maritime Enforcement Specialist 1st Class Samuel Cintron was still on guard, keeping an eye out for his colleagues, when he spotted the predator heading straight for his friends.
