Scottish Government insist they rejected Rangers' "short notice" request to welcome 10,000 fans into Ibrox on Saturday because it posed a significant health risk.
It comes after the Ibrox side revealed on Tuesday they sent a letter requesting significant number of supporters to be allowed inside to witness their heroes lift their first Premiership title in a decade.
Unsavoury scenes blighted Rangers' big day as thousands of supporters marched from the club's Govan stadium towards George Square.
The fallout has continued with Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf insisting Strict Liability was on the table in a bid to deter future incidents of that nature.
