Indian Premier League auction was suspended on Saturday morning after auctioneer Hugh Edmeades suddenly collapsed on stage.Edmeades was conducting the IPL auction event for the fourth successive season in Bengalaru at 3:30pm local time while overseeing the bidding on the third set of players when he collapsed.The 62-year-old was tended to by paramedics while staff from the attending teams watched on in horror.Proceedings were temporarily halted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), who later revealed he was in “stable” condition and that he had collapsed from the podium due to low blood pressure.The IPL have since confirmed Edmeades suffered from Postural Hypotension, leaving him light-headed and faint.Their statement read: “Mr Hugh Edmeades, the IPL Auctioneer, had an unfortunate fall due to Postural Hypotension during the IPL Auction this afternoon.“The medical team attended to him immediately after the incident and he is stable.
