The Queen owns an incredible number of grand properties and there are some that she's never even lived in herself. One of these properties is situated on the Windsor estate – and has been a Royal residence since 1792.
The forgotten mansion, which has reportedly been looked at by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, is Frogmore House. But this must not be confused with Frogmore Cottage, which is located on the same estate and was the former home of Harry and Meghan before they relocated to the States.
Frogmore House was purchased by George III's wife Charlotte and currently remains completely unoccupied. The Queen has never chosen to live there during her whole 70 years as monarch.
Frogmore House interestingly gets its name from the large abundance of frogs that live around the marshland of its grounds. The grand property is used as a public attraction and will open again in August 2022 for keen visitors wanting to get a look at how a Royal resides, following a closure during the Covid pandemic.
