Nicola Sturgeon announced yesterday that 11 local authority areas in central and western parts of Scotland will move into the highest tier later this week.
Non-essential retail businesses and gyms will be among those to close for three weeks from 6pm on Friday. The level four rules will be imposed in Glasgow, Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire, East Dunbartonshire, West Dunbartonshire, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire, East Ayrshire, South Ayrshire, Stirling and West Lothian.
