lockdown system came into effect across the country at 6am on Monday morning. The local lockdowns range from level zero to level four - with restrictions in the highest tier as close to a full lockdown as the country experienced in March.
Each local authority's lockdown level was confirmed last week with the majority of council areas staying in tier three.It was anticipated that Lanarkshire would go into tier four lockdown but Nicola Sturgeon confirmed the council area would too remain at tier three.
She warned in the case of North and South Lanarkshire, the area would be monitored daily to decide whether a stronger approach would be necessary to curb the spread of coronavirus.
