Boris Johnson has reportedly sent security experts to the homes of cabinet ministers to check their mobile phones as part of a leak inquiry.
It comes after plans for a second lockdown in England were leaked to the media last week, forcing the Prime Minister to announce new national restrictions before he had planned to do so.
It is understood senior cabinet ministers, including Matt Hancock and Michael Gove, have been asked to surrender their phones because of the investigation, reported the Mail on Sunday.
The Prime Minister was forced to address the nation during a press conference on Saturday, October 31, to outline plans for a month-long lockdown in England following a spike in coronavirus cases.
