Scot who never sunbathed dismissed bleeding mole which turned out to be skin cancer

cancer survivor is urging Scots to 'get your moles checked out' after one on his leg turned into a terrifying health scare. Jack Bridges, from Edinburgh, admits not knowing much about skin cancer, officially titled melanoma, before his diagnosis in December 2020.

The 29-year-old software developer told the Record: "I'm ginger with fair skin, you think people who sunbathe etc get skin cancer, which isn't me at all. "I didn't know the tell-tale signs, until my girlfriend, Tessa Waddell, urged me to see a doctor." Eagle-eyed Tessa, 27, spotted a mole on Jack's calf that had gotten bigger and a little swollen in around May last year."It would bleed when I showered too," Jack, who hails from Belfast, Northern Ireland, added.
