Covid prevented early diagnosis of her skin cancer.And while Fiona Weir, 43, has had treatment for a malignant melanoma, she now faces years of scans and tests to ensure the cancer has not spread or returned.By the time it was discovered, it had already spread to the lymph nodes in her groin and she is only thankful it was detected before it metastasised into her organs.But her cancer is already at stage three – just one below the most serious stage.Fiona, who is studying criminal justice while supporting daughter Keira, 15, says she’s paranoid about it returning, constantly checking for signs of hardened lymph nodes anywhere on her body.However, while she is hopeful her treatment will work, she has the shadow of uncertainty hanging over.
