The BBC's breathtaking new drama The Salisbury Poisonings will tonight follow the tragic storyline of Dawn Sturgess, who died after finding the Novichok meant to end Sergei Skripal's life.
The last of the three-parter documents the true story of the attempted assassination of Russian double agent Sergei and his daughter Yulia Skripal, who were both found lapsing in and out of consciousness on a park bench in Salisbury town centre on March 4, 2018.
Thanks to an epic taskforce of police, counter-terrorism units, intelligence services and scientific experts, the Skripals were quickly diagnosed as having been poisoned with a rare and deadly nerve agent known as Novichok - which in Russian means 'newcomer' or 'new boy'.
