RAF fighter jets have been scrambled to intercept a Russian aircraft seen off the Scottish coast - the third such incident in a week.

A pair of Tupolev Tu-160 Blackjacks, which are strategic bombers, approached British airspace as they flew down from the top of the country to the west coast of Ireland earlier today.According to the BBC , air force chiefs sent Typhoons from RAF Lossiemouth and RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire to monitor the situation as part of their Quick Reaction Alert programme.
