Sainsbury's and Waitrose have teamed up on a new shopping bag scheme.A brand new shopping bag made entirely from recycled materials is being launched in both the stores.The retailers say they hope that the Universal Bag will help customers to cut down on plastic bags and become more environmentally friendly.The tote bag, which will cost £10, was designed by fashion designer Anya Hindmarch.She also designed Sainsbury's I Am Not a Plastic Bag bag in 2007.The Universal Bag will be available in burgundy and racing green.It has striped handles and a smiley face design.Sainsbury's and Waitrose hope that it will help the supermarkets to cut down on waste, BirminghamLive reports.Sainsbury’s chief marketing officer Mark Given said: “We are serious.
