The animation world has lost a legend, with pioneer Ruthie Thompson passing away at 111 years of age.Thompson, who started her career at Disney as an ink and paint artist on Disney's first animated feature, 1937's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, passed peacefully at her home at theMotion Picture and Television Fund in Woodland Hills, California on Sunday (via Variety).She also worked on Disney classics such as Pinocchio, Dumbo, Bambi and Sleeping Beauty, while also becoming one of the first three women to join theInternational Photographers Union, Local 659 of the IATSE, in 1952.
