It seems the guests stuck to the infamous royal protocol regarding nail varnish colour, as they ditched bold colours or intricate designs in favour of glossy, neutral shades that didn’t distract from their chic Royal-worthy outfits.
It’s long been an unwritten rule that Royal women avoid colourful nail varnish whenever it comes to official engagements or occasions, with the late Queen Elizabeth leading by example and never being spotted wearing anything other than a delicate nude shade, with her favourite being Ballet Slippers from high street brand Essie.
Other members of the Royal family have followed suit, with Kate Middleton usually opting to wear nothing at all on her nails, although she has been known to occasionally wear a dark red shade when not attending royal engagements.
