Ronnie O’Sullivan is now just one behind Stephen Hendry as the Rocket whizzed past Kyren Wilson to win his sixth World Snooker Championship.
O’Sullivan beat Wilson 18-8 after a dominant afternoon session on Sunday left him needing just the one frame in the evening.And it didn’t take him long to get it, winning the first frame of the night to seal his first world title since 2013.O’Sullivan’s title moves him level with Steve Davis and Ray Reardon on six, and not many would bet against him equalling Hendry’s record in years to come.The Rocket courted controversy earlier in the tournament as he criticised the younger generation, but few could argue O’Sullivan was the best over the course of the Crucible fortnight.He produced the record fastest.
