Ricky Gervais is one of the most famous comedians on the planet, so it's fair to say he's used to being hounded by paparazzi when he's out and about. However, it seems The Office's co-creator has found a genius way to shut down photographers rushing to get a money snap.Ricky, 61, was pictured walking out of a party before he hosted the Golden Globes in 2016, which was his fourth time at the helm of the glitzy US award show.READ MORE: Ricky Gervais hits back as Stewart Lee brands After Life 'worst thing ever made' The actor was snapped wearing all black as he stepped out onto the street for a quick jog.But rather than darting away from the herd of paparazzi waiting to catch him, like many A-listers might, Ricky decided to opt for a different approach. He took time out of his busy day to wave and say 'hi' to the people behind the cameras, and even thanked them for telling him he was "hilarious on Ellen".

Unfortunately, one of the photographers was so desperate to get the right photo of the comic that he didn't pay attention to where he was walking. The photographer had been moving backwards and poking the lens at Gervais, potentially unaware that he could stray into a bush or onto a busy road.Ricky actually tried to warn the photographer as he held out his arm and urged him: "Oh no look be careful, be careful, be careful!"But it was too late, and the photographer lost their balance and stumbled, nearly falling over completely. It seems Ricky felt sympathy for the man as he took it upon himself to pose for photos and banter with the cameras before finally heading out on his run.It wasn't without the stand-up advising them not to chase him in case they fell over. After getting snapped, Ricky too to Instagram with a photo of him.
