Mr King claims it was put into administration by its majority owners in an attempt to push out himself and Chris Corbin, the group’s founders.
Minor International was believed to have been working with Mr Caring as a potential figurehead for the deal, and they were due to meet last week.
Mr Caring told the Sunday Times that “at this moment, I am not intending to pursue” a deal. FRP Advisory, the administrators for Corbin & King, has reportedly received dozens of expressions of interest.
