wrestling has had a rough couple of years. From the global pandemic and a total shut down of the industry, to its own scandal-filled Me Too movement, called Speaking Out, the UK scene has been through a lot.The tumultuous period also saw the introduction of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Wrestling set up, which has been vocal about changes needed in the industry going forward. And for Simon Miller, representation and inclusivity should play a hugely important part in that.He was speaking exclusively to the Daily Star just days after Progress Wrestling – the company he is the new show host of – held a BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) show, and an all-women's show in the same week. The journalist, YouTube host, and in-ring competitor said: “Inclusivity is so important and the only way to get to a point where we don't need those shows at all, because it's just happening on regular show, is to shine a spotlight on it and shout about it as much as possible.“So the fact that you know in that one week Progress did that is such a good way to approach it.“And it's also offering something to everybody, so you know if you're a female fan you get yourself represented.“If you're part of the BAME community, you get yourself represented, then you can go to the core Progress shows and we're going to have, obviously women on those shows and we're going to have BAME wrestlers on those shows too.“So to be a part of that, in whatever small way I am, feels like hopefully it's something that we can do more of.“There's loads of awesome wrestling companies in Britain doing the same thing, and I feel like, if we are all aimed towards that goal and if we can all work together in order to make the industry a better place and make it more.
