dailystar.co.ukPrince William and Kate Middleton needed a “stiff drink” after experiencing a scary moment whilst they were abroad on a royal tour.The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently on a week-long tour of the Caribbean, which sees them visiting Belize, Jamaica and The Bahamas, as they hope to boost support for the Crown in the Commonwealth following Barbados’ decision to become a republic last year.
This marks the couple’s first joint trip abroad since before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic two years ago. Six years ago, in 2016, the Cambridges had visited India for a seven-day tour, during which they visited Kaziranga National Park, which houses tigers and elephants.During their trip, a 6.9 magnitude earthquake shook the neighbouring country of Myanmar (formerly Burma).
Despite the epicentre of the quake hundreds of miles away from the park, tremors were reportedly felt all the way at Kaziranga National Park too.
Royal reporters who joined the press pack were said to have been checking into their hotels when the earthquake hit. Katie Nicholl, a member of the group and the current royal editor at Vanity Fair, previously told Yahoo's Royal Box: "We were checking into our hotel when the ground was literally shaking, trembling. "The Duke and Duchess were out in a field, in a hut on stilts.
