Prince George was seen feeling “awkward” as he accompanied his parents and sister to his great-grandfather Prince Philip’s memorial, according to a body language expert. The young prince was “well-trained” by his father Prince William but still showed signs of “pre-emptive anxiety”.William displayed a touching moment of reassurance to his son after they arrived in Westminster Abbey today as George was seen taking a “deep breath” and rubbing his clothes.Kate Middleton was also close by with Princess Charlotte, although Prince Louis was not in attendance.

Leading UK psychotherapist and body language expert Nick Davies analysed the instinctive moment from William as he realised his son needed him.George initially arrived with “confidence” but it changed once he entered the doors to Westminster Abbey, Nick told the Daily Star. The moment in particular occurred as William began talking to a member of the military and George starts to “feel awkward” as his father has a conversation.Nick said: “George appears more confident looking forward, staffing upright until he entered the Church doors when he takes a deep breath quickly, gulps and licks his dry lips which is caused by pre-emptive anxiety, but he maintains good eye contact and once he is spoken to by one of the clergymen he breaks into a broad smile showing his confidence.“However, once his father talks to the Navy gentlemen with the gold braiding, George's mouth tightens to the left and he rubs the bottom of his jacket with his right fingers, showing he feels awkward and is seeking comfort, William naturally recognises this putting his hand on George's shoulder."The majority of the Royal Family was in attendance for Philip’s memorial with the Queen arriving with her son.
