Archie Mountbatten-Windsor celebrates his third birthday today in his California home with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and younger sister Lilibet.The eldest son of the Sussexes will no longer be able to claim the title as prince when Prince Charles takes the throne.It was reported back in 2021 that Charles told Prince Harry and Meghan Markle he would be altering legal documents so Archie was no longer able to acquire the royal title when his grandfather becomes King.The future King was previously told he "dropped the ball" with his decision about young Archie by a royal historian, who slammed Charles as "clumsy".A grandchild of the sovereign usually has the right to become prince but Charles is understood to want to slim down the monarchy when he takes the crown.Dr Tessa Dunlop, a royal historian, claims that the move was "clumsy" from Charles.Speaking on the latest episode of Palace Confidential, she claimed: "I think Prince Charles has probably been clumsy."He reminds me of the well-meaning, avuncular man in the corner who is a bit out of date and occasionally gaffes and gets things wrong.
