Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Paul Scholes and Ian Wright have all been inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame. Established in 2021, the Hall of Fame recognises and honours the greatest players to have played in the English top-flight since its inception in 1992.
Goalscoring legends Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer were the first two players to be honoured in the star-studded hall. They were followed by Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Frank Lampard, Dennis Bergkamp, Steven Gerrard, David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Patrick Vieira.
And now six new names have been officially recognised as some of the Premier League's most successful stars of the last 30 years.
Manchester United legend Schmeichel, who is widely recognised as one of the Premier League's greatest ever goalkeepers, said: ""I'm very honoured to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. "I understood straight away that your career is only for a very short period of time.
