Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel insists Frank Lampard is still a legend at the club - despite failing to cut it as their manager.Tuchel will come up against the man he replaced in the managerial hot seat at Stamford Bridge when his side face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday looking to pile on the pain for Lampard. The Toffees have slumped into the bottom three of the Premier League - two points behind Burnley, although they do have a game in hand - following a shambolic run of two wins in their last eight league games to find themselves staring relegation from the top flight in the face.Taking the Toffees down would be another black mark on Lampard's managerial CV, after lasting just 17 months in charge of Chelsea.
But Tuchel reckons nothing will ever diminish his rival's reputation of greatness at the London club, whatever happens to him in the future.
Tuchel received a kind message from Lampard after succeeding him 15 months ago and admits he remains a huge admirer of the man he will look to beat this weekend. The German said: "We didn't have a lunch, but I agree he sent me a very kind message after I took over at Chelsea that meant a lot.
I was a huge fan of him as a player and he is - and will remain - a legend at our club. This is a given. I was very happy when he wrote me that message.
