However, the Italian’s unique ‘hop, skip, and jump’ technique was made to look rather foolish by West Ham shot-stopper Lukasz Fabianzki, whose decision to stand his ground instead of guessing saw him gather the ball like it was a back pass.
Fortunately for the experienced midfielder, Christian Pulisic struck late in the game to ease Jorginho’s blushes and secure the victory for Thomas Tuchel’s side at Stamford Bridge.
But after the former Napoli ace’s howler, not to mention a similar miss from Manchester United ace Bruno Fernandes in the Red Devils’ recent 3-1 loss to Arsenal, Seaman said he had little sympathy for the midfield duo.“I felt that way when people tried to do it with me,” the former England goalkeeper said on the ‘Seaman Says’ podcast. “In a way I would sometimes like it, (when they tried a stutter penalty) because I would just be like ‘right I’m not moving, let’s see what happens’.“But when it goes wrong like in Chelsea vs West Ham, how bad does he look?
