Shoppers are being urged to check their cupboards for a popular cashew butter that may pose a serious health risk to anyone following incorrect labelling.
Biona has issued an urgent recall for its Biona Organic Cashew Butter after it was found to contain undeclared peanuts, hazelnuts and almonds.
It means that the product poses a health risk for anyone with an allergy to those types of nuts.The latest allergy alert was posted to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) where it was revealed that the recall affects jars with the batch code E233189 and the best before date 31/12/206.
So far, no other batch codes or dates have been affected.Allergy alerts are generally posted to the FSA when a product has been withdrawn or recalled over fears that it may pose a health risk to certain consumers.
