Police have vowed to 'leave no stone unturned' after a man tried to abduct a schoolgirl in Trafford. The terrifying incident happened after the pupil left an after-school club at The Firs Primary School in Sale yesterday afternoon (Thursday).

Police said the man approached the girl as she made her way home at around 4.30pm and tried to grab her. The girl was able to break free, the force said, and run away. He drove off in the direction of Coppice Avenue. The van has been described as 'new shape' with a sliding door and signage on the side.
