A cyclist was left horrifically injured after he was attacked by an axe-wielding maniac. The victim was out cycling with two others in Arnold, Nottingham on Friday evening at the time of the unprovoked attack.
The group was approached by a man carrying an axe in Bestwood Lodge Drive at about 8.40pm. One of the cyclists was hit in the head, shoulder and back and was rushed to Queen's Medical Centre for urgent treatment.
Thankfully his injuries are not thought to be "life-altering", police have said. The offender with the axe quickly fled the scene and has yet to be found.
