A man has reportedly been shot dead at a George Floyd protest in the US as police tried to clear a crowd. The victim was killed at 12.15am local time this morning in Louisville, Kentucky, according to local media.

An hour earlier, a curfew had been imposed on the city after several nights of protests. Police officers and members of the National Guard were trying to clear up a gathering in a car park outside a shop when they were fired upon, it is claimed.

They returned fire and one person was reportedly killed. Louisville Metropolitan Police Department (LMPD) chief Steve Conrad said several persons of interest are being interviewed.
