Police attacked after crowd protests over alleged 'paedophile' resident in Scots street

Police officers were pelted with eggs after being called to a street protest against an alleged paedophile in Fife. A large crowd gathered in Blamey Crescent, Cowdenbeath, at around 6.40pm on Wednesday demanding the man be removed from the area.

Officers were called to the scene but were met by a small number of hostile protesters who threw projectiles at the cops.A police investigation is now underway to identify those responsible.It is understood that a man was removed from the property by officers a short time later.

Local Area Commander, Chief Inspector Paul Dick : “Police were called around 6.40pm on Wednesday, 15 July to Blamey Crescent, Cowdenbeath to reports of a large crowd gathering outside a house.
