The Jesus Walks rapper, 43, broke the bizarre news on Twitter last night, saying he would start "building our future" as he launched his campaign.
But Good Morning Britain host Piers, 55, said Kanye had picked the worst possible time to make his announcement, telling him "not now".
Quote tweeting Kanye's post on Sunday morning, Piers wrote: "Not now, Kanye. Seriously." His tweet quickly racked up 7,000 likes and over 600 retweets, suggesting plenty of Twitter users agreed with Piers' sentiment.
