Philippe Coutinho's future was up in the air only a few weeks ago. The Brazilian, while on loan at Bayern Munich from Barcelona, won the Champions League with German giants last season, knocking his parent club out of the competition along the way with two goals in the quarter-final.
The fact Coutinho celebrated the goals appeared to suggest the writing was on the wall, and the fact Bayern Munich weren't looking to make the loan deal permanent, suggested the midfielder's summer would be a speculation-packed journey filled with twists and turns.
But, in fact, the opposite happened. Barcelona's summer was anything but quiet with Lionel Messi handing in a transfer request and Luis Suarez being forced out of the club.
