jail, slit open his neck with a blade in court - seconds after being sentenced. Leslie Marrs produced the knife and pierced the right side of his neck merely moments after Judge Stuart Driver, QC, had warned the officer watching over the defendant in the dock.
Judge Driver had just reported to the officer that Marrs had claimed "he would commit suicide before he reached prison". According to Liverpool Echo, the judge went on to state: "He needs to be handled with particular care today." However just seconds later, Marrs produced a blade from his suit and used it twice to slit his neck, before the officer in the dock attempted to wrestle the blade free from Marr's hands.
