At the beginning of March, Yung Lean performed a headlining show at Stockholm's Avicii Arena (also known as Globen). For over two hours, Lean celebrated his decade-plus rise from Swedish internet meme to global rap star, playing cuts from across his catalog as well as a couple of songs from his as-yet unreleased album Jonatan (out on May 2 via Lean's own label World Affairs).

Yung Lean has confirmed his new album, Jonatan, will be released on May 2. The album is Lean's first solo project since 2022's Stardust and will feature the single "Forever Yung." A music video for the song, directed by Aidan Zamiri, can be seen below.

Charli XCX has been cast in The Gallerist, an upcoming film by Cathy Yan (Birds of Prey).As reported by Deadline, the ‘Brat’ singer has joined the star-studded cast alongside Jenna Ortega, Natalie Portman, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Sterling K. Brown, Zach Galifianakis, Daniel Brühl and Catherine Zeta-Jones.The film follows a desperate gallerist who conspires to sell a dead body at Art Basel Miami, and is currently in pre-production and set to shoot at the end of this year.It follows last month’s news that XCX had joined the cast of Sacrifice, the English-language debut of French director Romain Gavras.

She will star alongside Anya Taylor-Joy (Furiosa), Chris Evans (Avengers: Endgame), Vincent Cassel (Black Swan) and Ambika Mod (One Day).The plot synopsis read: “Sacrifice — loosely inspired by the Joan Of Arc story — tells the story of Joan (Taylor-Joy), a zealous spirit driven by a volcanic prophecy only she can hear, who is on a mission to save the world from a fiery reckoning.“Along with her militia of mystical disciples, she hijacks a glamorous charity gala and takes three hostages: Mike Tyler (Evans), a beleaguered movie star desperate for redemption, Bracken (Cassel), the world’s richest man, and Katie (Mod), who’s just unlucky.

EXCLUSIVE: Vincent Cassel (La Haine), John Malkovich (Being John Malkovich), singer and actress Charli xcx (I Want Your Sex), Swedish rapper Yung Lean in his film debut, Ambika Mod (One Day), Jade Croot (The Serpent Queen), Jeremy O. Caroline Brew editor EDGLRD, a multimedia design collective, has announced its experimental tour for Harmony Korine‘s latest film “Aggro Dr1ft.” The tour’s first stop is at the strip club Crazy Girls in Los Angeles on Feb. 7, with an additional date the next day. “Aggro Dr1ft” debuted at the Venice Film Festival last fall, followed by runs in Toronto and New York.

He’ll be capitalizing on a recent renaissance in appreciation for the Stockholm rapper, due in part to both the meteoric rise of his Drain Gang colleagues and the renewed vitality of his 2013 breakout single, “Ginseng Strip 2002,” released when he was only 16.

Yung Lean’s video for the FKA twigs-featured track “Bliss” showed his campy side, but the newly released video for “Paradise Lost” (featuring Ant Wan) goes the opposite route. The Marcus Söderlund-directed video takes on a neo-goth aesthetic, with the Swedish rapper and Ant Wan in a wooden chapel and a dimly-lit underground garage.

Kanye West reportedly held a private listening party for his forthcoming new album ‘DONDA 2’ in LA earlier this week.The rapper and producer’s sequel album to 2021’s ‘DONDA’ is set to be released on February 22.
