Charles 'could bar Sussex children from Royal titles over Harry's book and Netflix show'
King Charles III could rescind the Royal titles bestowed on Sussex children Archie and Lilibet, but it all hinges on the release of Prince Harry's new book. Also factoring in on whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's children lose out on their titles is the upcoming Netflix documentary on the family. The Duke of Sussex is said to have signed a four-book deal worth millions with Penguin Random House, with the first in the series a tell-all autobiography about life in the Royal Family.READ MORE: King Charles plots shake-up of Royal Family with bitter snub for Prince Harry But a delay for the book after the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, could mean the children of Harry and Meghan Markle could face a lack of clarity on their titles. The delay to the book leaves the Sussex children's titles up in the air, but royal expert Katie Nicholl believes Charles may stick to his plan of a rumoured, slimmed-down monarchy.Nicholl, writing in Vanity Fair, wrote: "Now that Charles is King, Harry and Meghan’s children automatically become Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex; however, the Royal Family’s website still has them listed as Master Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Miss Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor."Would Charles go as far as barring Archie and Lilibet from becoming a prince and a princess now that the Sussexes are no longer working royals?"According to a source close to the king, it depends a lot on what happens in the coming months, particularly with Harry’s book and their TV show."Archie and Lilibet are currently sixth and seventh in line to the throne respectively, but the Royal Family website has yet to update their status to Prince and Princess.
