Brentford sent Man City warning from team who react to a draw 'like someone has died'
Manchester City will host the Bees on Wednesday night, still licking their wounds from having dropped two points at Southampton last time out in the Premier League. The draw enabled Liverpool to close the gap on the Premier League leaders and offer Jurgen Klopp's men hope that the champions can still be caught in the race for the title. But City know a win on Wednesday would give them a 12-point lead again, before Liverpool have to host Leicester 24 hours later.Walker admits the dressing room was a miserable place to be at St Mary's, because his side dropped below the standards expected of them. And the England star knows the visit of Thomas Frank's side is the perfect chance for them to get rid of some of that frustration.Walker said: "It's the standard we set ourselves as a team - we make sure that each game we go out there and the minimum we want is the three points."I've never been in a team where we draw a game and it's like someone has died in there."The training ground for the next couple of days is down, but that's the standards we've set over the last five seasons since I've been here."We want to win every game and when we do drop points, it's not acceptable, because we know we can do better."You should set your own standards and want to achieve those standards day-in, day-out."City have 15 League games remaining in which to claim what would be a third title in four seasons, and also remain in the Champions League and FA Cup.Will Man City win the treble this season? Two Brentford players left with blood pouring out of heads after sickening collision
Brentford players Rico Henry and Mathias Jensen were involved in a graphic clash of heads during the Bees’ Premier League encounter against Wolves. The injuries the pair sustained were so bad that manager Thomas Frank was forced into making a double substitution.Jensen was seen leaving the field of play with blood dripping from his face, in harrowing scenes. The two went up for the ball at the same time and ended up colliding with one another on the 20 minutes at the Community Stadium. The game had to be stalled for around five minutes as medics ran to the pitch and tended to the pair.It was deemed they needed to be replaced and substitutes Mads Roerslev and Shandon Baptiste came on.Just six minutes later, the game was halted once again as a drone flew over the pitch. The referee took both teams off as per safety protocols and the game was stopped for 18 minutes. The Bees have lost their last three Premier League matches and are looking more and more like they could be dragged back into a relegation battle. Is this the most graphic injury you've seen this season? Tell us in the comments section. After Brentford’s 3-1 loss to Manchester United on Wednesday, the Danish boss - who has just signed a fresh deal to keep him with the Bees until 2025 - said that the northwest club were lucky to get their win.Frank was stunned his side didn't claim all three points though and said United deserved nothing more than a draw at best.“I know goals change the momentum of games but if you look at the overall performance for 90 minutes there can only be one winner and that’s us. They only deserve a draw," he said via Manchester Evening News."I’m unbelievably proud of the team and the players.

Thomas Frank slams "unbelievably lucky" Man Utd and dismisses "crap" excuses
Manchester United for being “unbelievably lucky” in their win over the Bees on Wednesday. The Red Devils travelled to London for the rearranged Premier League clash, with Ralf Rangnick’s side claiming a welcome 3-1 win in their battle to finish in the top four. But during another dreadful first-half, the visitors had David de Gea to thank for keeping the scores goalless heading into the break, with the Spaniard pulling off a series of crucial saves.De Gea twice prevented Mathias Jensen from breaking the deadlock in the first period, with United coming out as a different team for the second period.United quickly punished Brentford for missing those chances when Anthony Elanga controlled Fred’s pass before heading in from close range 10 minutes after the interval.Mason Greenwood then provided the tap-in on a wonderful team goal after Bruno Fernandes raced onto Cristiano Ronaldo’s brilliant chest down. And Rangnick’s side made sure of all three points when substitute Marcus Rashford fired in at the near post.Though Ivan Toney pulled a goal back following a scramble, it was too little, too late for Brentford.Who was man of the match in Manchester United's win over Brentford? Let us know in the comments section...With his side having dominated the first-half, Frank was understandably unhappy to have taken nothing from the game. And in his post-match interview, he slammed United for being “unbelievably lucky” while dismissing the excuse of his side missing so many chances.“Unbelievably proud of my team.
