FX’s fifth season of multi-award winning series, Fargo, is returning on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The network today also unveiled first look images from the new season and revealed more details on the plot of the Noah Hawley-created TV series spawned from the Oscar winning 1996 Coen Brothers movie.

Alien film franchise is scheduled to be released in 2024.As reported by Variety, the ninth film in the franchise will be released on August 16, 2024, as production on various Disney projects continues to be affected by the ongoing Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) strike.The next Alien film is produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Fede Álvarez, who is best known for directing Don’t Breathe and 2013’s Evil Dead. The film’s script is co-written by Álvarez and his longtime collaborator Rodo Sayagues.Confirmed cast members include Cailee Spaeny (Pacific Rim Uprising), Isabela Merced, David Jonsson (Industry), Archie Renaux (Shadow And Bone), Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu.The untitled installment has been described as a standalone entry, which will be the seventh mainline entry in the franchise overall.

Noah Hawley’s FX series Alien has found one of its leads in Sydney Chandler, the network has confirmed.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Sydney Chandler has been cast as a lead in Noah Hawley’s “Alien” series currently in the works at FX, Variety has learned. Plot and character details are being kept under tight wraps on the project, which was first announced in December 2020. The only detail that has been confirmed is that the show will take place on Earth in the not-too-distant future. The role brings Chandler back to FX, as she previously made her network television debut in the cabler’s 2022 limited series “Pistol” from Danny Boyle, which told the story of the legendary band The Sex Pistols. Chandler starred in the series as Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders. Chandler’s other credits include the film “Don’t Worry Darling” and the Facebook Watch series “SKAM Austin.” She is also set to appear in the upcoming Apple series “Sugar” opposite Colin Farrell.

Pine has played Captain Kirk in three “Star Trek” movies, and he is painfully out of the loop when it comes to the long-delayed and long-overhauled fourth movie. Directors such as Quentin Tarantino and Noah Hawley developed “Star Trek 4” scripts that never got off the ground. “WandaVision” director Matt Shakman was the most recent filmmaker attached to “Star Trek 4,” but he left the project to shoot Marvel’s “Fantastic Four” reboot instead. Paramount announced last September it was removing “Star Trek 4” from its release calendar. As part of Chris Pine’s new Esquire cover story, franchise producer J.J. Abrams said the “Star Trek 4″ script is in a good place. “I will say it’s the first time [since the original reboot] that we have a story that feels as compelling as the first one,” he added. But even still, Pine is out of the loop.

FX’s Fargo has added David Rysdahl, Sam Spruell, Jessica Pohly and Nick Gomez to the cast of the fifth season. They join the previously announced Juno Temple, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Joe Keery, Lamorne Morris and Richa Moorjani.

Deadline told you earlier today that WandaVision director Matt Shakman is in early talks to direct Marvel’s Fantastic Four. As such, he’s leaving the Paramount/Bad Robot’s Star Trek movie which he was previously attached to helm.

Predator prequel film Prey, due to arrive later this summer.Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane), the film focuses on the character Naru (played by indigenous actor and Legion star Amber Midthunder), who wants to “prove her worth as a warrior”.The full synopsis reads: “Set in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, the action-thriller follows Naru, the skilled warrior who fiercely protects her tribe against a highly evolved alien predator.”The video shows Naru attempting to evade a bear, before the creature is killed and dragged away by an invisible entity. “Whatever did this,” she says towards the end of the clip, which features a number of high-octane action sequences, “I can kill it.”Watch the trailer below.  Prey‘s filmmakers were committed to creating an accurate portrayal of the Comanche – and as such, the film features a Native Comanche producer (Jhane Myers) and a cast made up almost entirely of Native and First Nations actors, including Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush, and Julian Black Antelope (per Hollywood Reporter).Prey will be the fifth main entry into the Predator franchise, which began with the Arnold Schwarzenegger 1987 film, followed by 1990’s Predator 2, 2010’s Predators and 2018’s The Predator. The series has also crossed over with the Alien franchise in 2004 film Alien vs.

The mad man returns! Jon Hamm is coming back to television — and he’s set to star in season 5 of FX’s hit anthology series Fargo.
