Ex-BBC presenter jailed for sexually assaulting young boy as another man held him down
BBC radio presenter has been jailed after being found guilty of indecently assaulting a teenage boy.John Mylrea Caine, 69, was sentenced to eight years behind bars at Caernarfon Crown Court appearing via video link from HMP Berwyn in Wrexham.The court heard at trial how Mr Caine stood accused of indecently assaulting the teen, from Flintshire, in the late 1970s.He had befriended the boy's family and used his sports car and job to "impress" his victim, the defence team said.Caine had allegedly given the youth "behind the scenes" access to BBC Radio Merseyside after learning of his interest in radio broadcasting.But, the trips to the studio became an opportunity for Caine to take advantage of his young companion, with the court hearing how he had "groped" him over his clothing on more than one occasion while they drove home from the radio station.Another incident saw Caine perform a sex act on the boy while a second unidentified man held him down.The judge stressed that none of the alleged incidents occurred whilst on BBC property.The court was also told how Mr Caine was previously arrested, charged and convicted for similar offences against teenage boys - during the 70s, 80s and 90s - at a court in Manchester over two decades ago, despite his crimes against the North Wales victim not being heard until now.While the victim has remained unidentified for legal reasons, prosecutor James Wilson shared a statement from him with the court where he said Caine's actions had "defined his whole life", forcing him to live with "a particular intense feeling of guilt" that "invaded every possible aspect" of his life.He said: "These incidents have effectively split my life into two parts - the one that existed before they [the attacks]

Jennifer, giggling, replied: "Dawn and I have played some Irish nuns in a sketch once."I do remember my accent went around the world and I am slightly ashamed of that."Jennifer then discussed her love for habits, the name of nuns' overalls.She continued: "A habit is a great thing because you don't have to think about your hair and makeup and you can get the size of a house inside a habit, it doesn't matter."All shapes and sizes, it's amazing!"Jennifer was referring to a French and Saunders sketch titled Three Irish nuns at the Vatican.In the short sketch, viewers were left in stitches as the nuns not only visit the Pope but also go to the Vatican store to pick up items like Pope bath salts.Jennifer will be playing Mother Superior in the West End musical.The production features Clive Role as Eddie Souther.Jennifer will also star alongside the likes of Beverley Knight, Keala Settle, and Lesley Joseph.Speaking about the delayed musical, producer James Wilson said: "Hallelujah!
