Mercury Prize have been revealed, with Arctic Monkeys, J Hus and RAYE among the list.The winner of the prize will be announced at a live ceremony at London’s Eventim Apollo on September 7, and were judged by a panel including Anna Calvi, Jamie Cullum, Mistajam and more.Others on the list of nominees include Loyle Carner (for his ‘Hugo’ album), Jockstrap (for debut LP ‘I Love You Jennifer B’), Young Fathers (‘Heavy Heavy’), Fred again.. Ezra Collective have shared a new collaboration with Sampa the Great and announced their new album, ‘Where I’m Meant To Be’, will arrive in November.On the new single ‘Life Goes On’, which nods sonically to Fela Kuti’s ‘Shakara Oloje,’ Sampa fires off rapid verses over horns, keys and bass, buoyed by particularly lively percussion courtesy of bandleader (and touring Gorillaz drummer) Femi Koleoso. The song arrives alongside a video directed by Nathan Miller and shot on location in both London and Lusaka, Zambia.“London meets Lusaka. Nubya Garcia has become a central figure in London’s contemporary jazz community. The 28-year-old saxophonist has been integral to the development of its sound, and a crucial component and player on many of the great releases, including on 2018’s lauded ‘We Out Here’ compilation, alongside Mercury Prize-nominated drummer Moses Boyd and Ezra Collective.

The Universal-owned Decca and Blue Note labels have announced a collaboration, pairing current stars of the jazz, soul and R&B scenes in the UK with classic Blue Note released tracks.
