Jem Aswad Senior Music Editor Compton-based house-music producer-singer Channel Tres has inked a deal that sees him joining RCA Records in partnership with L.A. indie Godmode. The partnership kicks off tonight with the release of the new single “No Limit,” with his debut full-length album “Real Cultural Shit” arriving later this fall. The album will also feature his singles from earlier this year, “Acid in my Blood,” “Ganzfeld Experiment” and “Just Can’t Get Enough.” Channel Tres, who has toured with Robyn, Vince Staples, Disclosure and Toro y Moi and performed at Coachella and New York’s Gov Ball, calls his style of dance music “Compton house”; it meshes the rhythms of Chicago house and Detroit techno with the bite of West Coast rap.

Channel Tres has announced his long-awaited debut album, ‘Head Rush’ – find out more below.This past Friday (May 3), the DJ-producer and singer took to social media to announce the upcoming record and released the album’s first single, ‘Berghain’, in the process. The album is due for release on June 14 via RCA Records.The album will mark Channel Tres’ first-ever, and is previewed by the dancey track ‘Berghain’ featuring Barney Bones.

Kaytranada has been announced as the latest headliner at All Points East 2024.Joining the Canadian producer and artist on Friday, August 16 at the East London music festival in Victoria Park includes Victoria Monét, Thundercat, Amaarae, Channel Tres, Lancey Foux and more.The day’s line-up will also feature Jyoty, TSHA, KILIMANJARO, Lou Phelps, Felo Le Tee, Taylah Elaine, Arthi, Kitty Ca$h, Tkay Maidza and more artists that are still to be announced.You can find the full Friday line-up so far below. In partnership with Beyond The ValleyAustralian New Year’s Eve festival Beyond The Valley has announced the line-up for its 2023/2024 edition. The festival will run from December 28, 2023 to January 1, 2024 at Barunah Plains in Hesse, Victoria.Leading the line-up are Australian electronic trio RÜFÜS DU SOL, British drill rapper Central Cee and South Korean DJ and producer Peggy Gou.

Last year saw the pair return with two new tracks – ‘Good Times’ and ‘Problemz’ – and reveal that they’d started work on their next record.The first taster of the LP comes with ‘Candle Flame’ – featuring Jungle’s trademark energy and a backdrop of disco and soul, accompanied by the distinctive rhymes of Erick The Architect.“I think the single is amazing and it’s one of the best things we’ve ever made,” Jungle’s Josh Lloyd-Watson told NME.

Channel Tres has shared the second single from his debut studio LP, Real Cultural Shit. “No Limit” drops two-and-a-half months ahead of the album’s scheduled December 8 release via GODMODE, and two months behind the project’s announcement and the arrival of its lead single, “Just Can’t Get Enough.” Both of the songs released on RCS’ cycle thus far have celebrated the roots of house music, but “Just Can’t Get Enough” and “No Limit” spread in distinct directions.

Flume is set to return to his native Australia this coming November in support of his forthcoming third studio album, ‘Palaces’, which arrives this Friday (May 20).The tour, announced today (May 18), is largely slated for arenas and outdoor venues in most capital cities. The shows are also set to feature a rotating list of both local and international support acts – including collaborators Caroline Polachek and Toro Y Moi.

Channel Tres has been defying the prescribed boundaries of dance music and hip-hop since his self-titled debut EP dropped in 2018. The Compton producer/rapper has since collaborated with upper-crust artists of both forms, from Tyler to Baauer, Peggy to Disclosure, and beyond — broadening his horizons still further last summer and fall on tour with Thundercat.

Channel Tres is in a roller derby for one in the music video for his brand new single "Skate Depot," out today. According to a press release, the song's title comes from the roller rink in Cerritos, CA where Tres worked; apparently he was let go for not being good enough on four wheels, but you'd never guess that from the music video.
