Alison Goldfrapp has today announced her debut solo album ‘The Love Invention’, and dropped the synth-heavy new single ‘So Hard So Hot’.The release marks the musician’s first full release as a solo artist, following her extensive career with electronic duo Goldfrapp.Set for release on May 12, the album will see the vocalist channel her love of disco and house into an 11-track LP that captures her “forward-thinking” approach to songwriting and her “reawakening as a dancefloor priestess”.Following on from launch single ‘Digging Deeper’, the vocalist also shared her new single ‘So Hard So Hot’ – a track that captures glossy synths and an intense bassline, paired with a classic house beat.Accompanying the song is the hypnotic music video, which uses a range of AI techniques to see the vocalist pulled into her fantasy environment.“I wanted to do something that had that very clubby, acid-y feeling to it,” she said of the latest track. “But I wanted lightness to come out of the chorus – there’s tension there, as well as euphoric freedom.”According to the musician, the track seeks to reflect a mythical world that is simultaneously powerful and fragile, and represents the “instability and hope of transitional states”.Alison Goldfrapp is also set to play a series of live shows in the UK.

On the heels of her fantastic album Renaissance, Beyoncé has shared a four-trap remix EP for her hit single "Break My Soul." One of the artists enlisted to reimagine the track is Honey Dijon, the esteemed Black transgender DJ who contributed to the Renaissance songs "Cozy" and "Alien Superstar." In her new version, Honey Dijon starts things off with stampeding drums and synths firing like photon torpedos before Beyoncé's lead vocals guide the song further and further skyward.

Kanye West has been sued for copyright infringement again, Billboard reports and court documents reviewed by The FADER confirm. A complaint filed Wednesday in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York by attorneys for Ultra International Music Publishing (UIMP) claims Ye did not clear the sample of Marshall Jefferson’s 1986 house anthem “Move Your Body” that can allegedly be heard at least 22 times on the Donda 2 track “Flowers.” Like the rest of Donda 2, “Flowers” was released in late February exclusively on Stem Player, an MP3 device created specifically for the album in collaboration with Alex Klein and his company, Kano Computing Limited.

The singles from Mura Masa's upcoming album Demon Time (out September 16) have showcased some pretty canny collaborations. "bbycakes" teamed up Lil Uzi Vert, PinkPantheress, and Shygirl for a puppy love club track, and "blessing me" created a chrome-covered dancehall with Pa Salieu and Skillibeng ("2gether," released sans features, sounds like Billie Eilish produced by Porter Robinson).

Black Coffee has announced that he’ll be performing a one-off headline show at London’s Beckenham Place Park this September.The Grammy-winning DJ and producer will play an extended set at the event on September 11, where he will also welcome friends and rising DJs to the stage – these will be announced at a later date.According to a press release, the pioneering DJ “will bring his signature sound to the idyllic rolling grasslands of Beckenham Place Park, which is nestled amongst protected ancient woodland and a beautiful lake.”The recently converted golf course in the heart of South London will boast two stages for the all-dayer.Pre-sale tickets go on sale May 10 at 1pm local time; general release tickets go on sale the following day, May 11, at 1pm.

Happy Mondays dancer Bez has made his vocal debut on ‘Flying Bus’, a new track that sees the Madchester legend team up with house producer DJ Doorly.The song, which also features vocals from Firouzeh, pays homage to the glory days of acid house, taking listeners back to the open-minded party hedonism of the Second Summer of Love.Featuring an infectious vocal loop from Bez – his first to ever feature on a record – he describes the magic of his legendary Flying Bus Glastonbury stage, known for being the festival’s last stage standing, with the party going on through the night into the early hours of the morning.“It was a brilliant work trip to Ibiza to collaborate with Doorly at his studio that created this tune,” Bez said of the new track.
