Netflix has dropped a new trailer for explosive action-thriller Extraction 2, which sees Thor star Chris Hemsworth return as contract killer Tyler Rake.

As the release date for “Extraction 2” gets closer, Netflix has unveiled a brand new trailer for the action sequel.

Citadel, the long-in-the-works global spy thriller drama from Amazon Studios and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, is eyeing the biggest debut for a series on the streamer based on original IP.

The project has since been shelved. “We love ‘Star Wars,'” Joe Russo said. “Kevin Feige is a huge ‘Star Wars’ fan, and there were some early conversations about maybe teaming up with Kevin to do ‘Star Wars.'”

The Sands International Film Festival, Scotland’s burgeoning film event, opened its second edition this weekend with the world premiere screening of Citadel, the much-talked-about Prime Video series from Marvel auteurs Anthony and Joe Russo.

In the first trailer for “Extraction 2,” Hemsworth’s Rake is revealed to be alive, and he’s wasting no time getting back to action. He brutally beats people down with a riot shield in what appears to be a prison break, uses the shield to deflect a fiery molotov cocktail, then proceeds to punch rioters with his burning fist. Director Sam Hargrave returns for the sequel, as do producers Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously teamed with Hemsworth on “Avengers: Endgame.” After making his directorial debut with the first “Extraction,” the follow-up is Hargrave’s second film. He previously worked as a stunt coordinator with the Russos on “Avengers: Endgame,” “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Captain America: Civil War.”

Variety has learned that Alex Metcalf has boarded the show, currently titled “Butch & Sundance,” as showrunner and executive producer. Series creators Kaz Firpo and Ryan Firpo will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers alongside Metcalf. The Firpos most recently wrote the screenplay for the Marvel film “Eternals.” Amazon has ordered the show straight-to-series. The show was first reported as being in development in September, with Regé-Jean Page attached to play Cassidy and Glen Powell playing Sundance. At that time, it was reported that deals for the show were not yet closed and discussions were ongoing.

Amazon has set the creative team for its Butch & Sundance series.

Hot on the heels of their Best Picture Oscar win as the producers of the Daniels’ A24 breakout Everything Everywhere All at Once, Joe Russo and Anthony Russo’s AGBO has named Ryan Verniere as their new Senior Vice President of Story. The move follows the company’s early February appointment of Michael Disco as President of Film.
