Pep Guardiola claims that the Manchester derby is “one of the nicest” in which he has ever been involved. The Manchester City boss takes his team to Old Trafford on Sunday aiming to rack up the Blues’ fourth successive win at the home of their old rivals.
The clash of the cross-town rivals has taken a nasty turn recently, with alleged racist abuse, coins thrown at players and fans throwing seats at each other in the last two meetings at the Etihad Stadium .
But Guardiola looked at it from a football perspective when asked where the Manchester derby ranks. He played and managed in El Clasico games against Real Madrid in his Barcelona days, and was also involved in derbies in Italy and Mexico as a player.
