The right to work from home could be enshrined in law after the Health Secretary said he would consider a legal shake-up. Until now, ministers have refused to put legal duties on firms to let people choose their working arrangements after coronavirus.
But Matt Hancock last night said flexible working is the "new norm" and was something all "good employers" should accommodate moving forward.
Asked if he would consider enforcing this through legislation, he replied "yes", adding: "the way you could look at it is there's a right to request flexible working. "I definitely think it should be the norm where possible. "We need to persuade people that allowing flexible working should continue.
