A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a pensioner died following a fight between dog walkers. Northamptonshire Police were scrambled to reports of a 72-year-old being assaulted in at around 4.20pm on Wednesday.
Paramedics rushed to the scene in the Roade area of Northampton but sadly the elderly victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said a 27-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident. He remained in police custody as of this morning.
