Manchester City inspired Patrick Vieira's managerial career, not Arsenal great Arsene Wenger, the Frenchman has revealed. Vieira, 45, ended an illustrious playing career at City with a season at the club in 2010/11 after spells at Arsenal, Juventus and Inter Milan.
He didn't leave the City setup, though, spending four years at the club's academy, leading youngsters at various levels from Under-19 to Under-23.
Remaining in the City Football Group umbrella, Vieira then moved to New York City FC for his first management role, staying in charge at City's sister club for two years between 2016 and 2018.
