Borussia Dortmund are cautiously optimistic that Erling Haaland will not leave them next summer, when Manchester City could make a move for the Norway star.
Following their abortive attempts to sign Harry Kane this summer, the Blues are still in the market for a striker, and Haaland is a live option, especially as it is believed he has a £64million release clause that will kick in at some point next year.
But City would still move if Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy budges from his refusal to discuss selling Kane, either in January or - more likely - next summer.
