Manchester City smashed both the British and the Premier League transfer record during the summer to lure Jack Grealish to the Etihad Stadium - but failed to sign the striker they craved.
City made just three signings for the first team during the summer, but Grealish was the only marquee addition, as Scott Carson, who returned to the club on a permanent deal, and Brazilian youngster Kayky, who only recently arrived in England, were the other two arrivals.
Despite spending £100million on landing England ace Grealish from Aston Villa, City, despite their best efforts, were unable to sign a striker.
