Manchester United may be some distance from top the Premier League table but they have eclipsed rivals Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal in terms of spending the most wages in the Premier League - forking out an estimated £226.6m on their players with Cristiano Ronaldo as the highest earner.
Their summer spending spree saw the 36-year-old return to United, as the club also signed Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Tom Heaton to bolster the options at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's disposal.
David de Gea and Paul Pogba are also among the top earners at Old Trafford. It comes as no surprise that the attacking department occupies a huge percentage of wage bill at United, as new figures show.
