Paddy Pimblett 'woke up crying' for six weeks after early-career heartbreak

Paddy ‘the Baddy’ Pimblett admitted he cried nearly every morning for six weeks when he suffered a painful defeat to Soren Bak in 2018.

Despite being relatively new to the UFC, Pimblett has already become a megastar recognised all around the world. While his victory against Jordan Leavitt was only his third fight since making the step into the Octagon, the beloved Liverpudlian has already made a huge name for himself with his ruthless fighting style and very cheeky personality.

However, Pimblett admitted he thought his career was “finished” when he suffered his third career loss to Danish fighter Bak at Cage Warriors 96 in 2018. “After that fight lad, even though I had the broken hand, I had put everything into the build-up to it and I trained my arse off,” Pimblett said to ‘Steve-O’s Wild Ride podcast’.Read More: Paddy Pimblett believes 'biggest PPV in UFC history' against Conor McGregor will happen “I just remember we went back to the apartment we were staying at and some of my mates were up partying, where they’d been up anyway.

I just went to bed, and I was just sitting there crying.“Nearly every morning for the next six weeks I woke up crying. When the missus would go to work normally, I’d roll over and just go to sleep.“But after that fight, I would wake up and just be like ‘wow, you lost that fight, your career is over, you’re finished’ and I would just start crying.” Pimblett came within a whisker of overcoming Bak in the first round of the bout.How big do you think Paddy 'the Baddy' Pimblett can become in UFC?
